Smart Hospital Network Infrastructure
Complete network redesign for a 500-bed hospital including fiber backbone, WiFi 6 coverage, and IoT device integration for medical equipment monitoring.
Context & Challenge
The hospital experienced frequent network downtimes and slow data transmission, which hampered real-time medical equipment monitoring and delayed critical patient data access. The existing infrastructure was outdated and unable to support modern IoT medical devices securely.
Applied Solution
We designed and implemented a robust fiber-optic backbone connecting all hospital wings. We deployed high-density WiFi 6 access points to ensure seamless connectivity for mobile medical carts and staff devices. Additionally, a secure VLAN architecture was implemented to separate IoT medical devices from guest and administrative networks.
Implementation Outcome
- Achieved 99.99% network uptime, ensuring uninterrupted access to critical systems.
- Reduced data retrieval time for patient records by 60%.
- Successfully integrated over 500 IoT medical devices into a secure, monitored network segment.
- Improved patient and visitor satisfaction through reliable guest Wi-Fi.
